BCN3D has optimized the Sigma R17. According to 3D Hubs, this highly rated workhorse combines reliability and quality. New is the renewed LCD-screen, improved stepper drivers and new axial fans.
The BCN3D Sigma R17 has, thanks to its IDEX-FFF system (Independent Dual Extrusion), a different look than most dual head 3D-printers. This system places both extruders on opposite sides of the printer, instead of right next to each other. This gives the Sigma R17 a build volume of 210 x 297 x 210mm.
One of the novelties in regard to the older version of the Sigma are the improved fans. These new fans cool the hot-end, are more quiet and yet as strong as the old ones. The new fans will only start their motion when the hot-end reaches a certain temperature.
Also the stepper drivers have been renewed. They actually have been fully redesigned. A more powerful microchip makes the Sigma R17 faster, more accurate and more qualitative. It also makes the Sigma R17 a lot quieter than the old version.
The renewed LCD-screen has been made a more capacitive touchscreen, which gives it a faster response and a better user experience.
Last, the Sigma R17 has a new hot-end family in different diameters (0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.0mm). This allows a bigger multitude of possibilities for your Sigma R17.
The high details, dual print head, possibility to combine colors, materials and support materials and the stir aluminum frame stayed the same. BCN3D also kept the assisted automatic calibration.
